Soneva Fushi has welcomed Manish Arora, one of the most celebrated and inspiring contemporary designers in the fashion world today.
Manish, who is known for his craftsmanship and unique play on colours such as his trademark palette of pink and gold, is at Soneva Fushi from the May 8 to 20 as part of the Festival of Colour. Manish will be collaborating with the Soneva Glass Studio to create a range of sculptures during his time at Soneva Fushi, and possibly accessories and jewellery as well.
Manish first launched his label ‘Manish Arora’ in 1997, from there he grew from strength to strength gaining a devoted following in the fashion world, which finally led to Manish exhibiting at the London Fashion Week in 2005. In 2007, Manish had his first showcase at Paris Fashion Week. He became a member of the distinguished French Federation of Pret-a-Porter in 2009, and in 2016, Manish was awarded the Chevalier de la Légion D’Honneur by the French Ambassador which is the highest decoration in France.
Today, Manish sells his creations worldwide across prestigious stores such as Printemps, Joyce and Saks 5th Avenue. In 2011, Manish was appointed the Creative Director for Iconic French Fashion House ‘Paco Robanne’ where he designed two successful collections. He has also collaborated with Walt Disney, Swarovski, Swatch, and Reebok, amongst others. His rich and colourful designs have been worn by international stars such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, MIA and Katy Perry.
In February, Soneva launched its first ever year-long campaign known as a ‘Festival of Colour’ to celebrate the diverse array of guest activities and experiences on offer this year. Soneva has confirmed a huge line-up of visiting experts, including chefs, authors, wine producers, world-champion free-divers, astronomers, artists, wellness practitioners, tennis coaches and more at all resorts. Soneva’s Festival of Colour runs from February 2018 – February 2019.
