During the night of March 5, new life was born at Dusit Thani Maldives as the last turtle nest of 2017 hatched on one of the resort’s beaches and 30 baby Green Turtles came into the world.
The hatchlings were kept overnight in a protected environment and then released from the beach on the evening of March 6 as the sun set over the horizon, to make their way across the sand to the water’s edge and their first dip into the ocean.
The island is home to many Hawskbill and Green Turtle nests each year when the females come out of the sea at night to lay their eggs.
